3 Days of Art and History

August 23rd – 25th

This event is to raise funds to further the general upkeep and further restoration for the only restored middle class family home in the Cedar Rapids area.

The first 25 artists will be painting “en plein air” for cash and prizes both inside and outside around the historic Granger House in Marion, Iowa. Paint what your see from the grounds or inside the beautifully restored home where one family lived for nearly 100 years.

What will be your image of a family’s 100 years of occupation of this home? This house contains many of its original furnishings and is arranged to reflect the lifestyle of a successful, late 19th-century middle-class family. Period actors will be on the grounds to add to the mystique.
